Short version: this site doesn't use cookies, doesn't sell data, and doesn't track you around the internet. Here's the longer version, plainly put.

Analytics

This site uses Fathom Analytics to see roughly how many people visit and which pages they read. Fathom doesn't use cookies, doesn't collect personal data, and can't identify you individually. It just gives me aggregate numbers, like a page counter.

The newsletter

If you sign up for the newsletter, your email address is stored by Buttondown, the service that sends it. I only use it to send you the newsletter. I don't sell it, share it, or use it for anything else. You can unsubscribe any time, no questions asked.

YouTube videos

Video thumbnails on this site are just images, they don't load anything from YouTube until you actually click play. Once you do, the video plays through YouTube's privacy-enhanced embedded player (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube's own privacy policy applies from that point on, since it's their player, not mine.

The 26in2026 dashboard

The map on the 26in2026 dashboard uses Leaflet with map tiles from CARTO and map data from OpenStreetMap. Loading the map means your browser requests map tile images from CARTO's servers, the same way loading any image on any website works. The running stats themselves are just numbers I log myself, nothing personal about you is involved.

What I don't do

No advertising trackers, no third-party cookies, no selling or sharing data with advertisers, no fingerprinting. If that ever changes, this page will change first.
